Me and the Heart Moniter...

So, this past Sunday, while I was trying to...'use the bathroom', I passed out for a bit and freaked Shane the heck out! I was a little concerned about it as well, but I'm used to passing out and just 'being a wimp'. I mean, my whole life, I've been the wimp of the family. It's been a funny thing! So, on Monday when the same thing happened again, Shane told me to call my Dr. just to see what she would say. So, ok. I call my Dr., she ordered me to the ER as soon as I could go. WHAT?!?! Don't these people know that I'm just a wimp and that's all that's wrong with me?!?! Well, I guess not. So, ok. I call Shane and tell him, we go into the ER. I'm feeling goofy and nervous and all that. Well, the did some tests, EKG, hooked me up to a heart monitor and saw that my heart rhythm is pretty irregular. Other than that I'm healthy as a horse! So, they sent me home with a heart monitor to, well, 'monitor' my heart! Ha! This thing has 5 leads on it and is pretty uncomfortable! Not only that, but I can't shower with it on!!!! I've taken one sponge bath and I might have to take another one today!!!! I've only gotta wear this thing for 3 hours and 15 mins more then I can TAKE IT OFF!! It's been a long 48 hours! But here is my dilemma, I have to be at work before 3 and I can't take it off until about 1:45. I have to run to town to get Shane lunch and run to Wal-Mart! There just isn't enough time today! Plus I have to get things ready for this big event we have going on tonight. The number one youth speaker in America is coming to our school to talk to our kids!!! Can't wait, but, if only there were more time...just for today!!! Oh well.

I have a follow-up visit next Tuesday to see what the heart monitor has recorded and if I need more tests. These doctors are pretty serious about my heart. They want to to an ultra-sound of my heart and then an MRI of my brain!! I wish they would just laugh at me and tell me "well, as it turns out Mrs. VanOrden, you ARE A WIMP!!!! That's all that's wrong with you!" And then I'll say, "TOLD YA SOOOOOOOO!!!!" Ha! So, we'll figure out what is what next Tuesday!
